hi, have a rear engine 8 hp roper im putting back together and would like to race it in stock modified next season. the rules state that you have to have 8 inch rims on the rear, mine are 6 inch and are stock, to accomodate the bigger and wider rims i would need to put on a wider axle preferably 1 inch diameter so i can buy a disc brake for in from princess auto. am i allowed to make him modification? please help me out . thanks jake
If your tractor has a transaxle you cannot put a live axle system in a stock modifed. I do not understand why 8" rims will not fit. We had another driver with a rear rider change his over and he never informed us he had a problem doing so.
No transaxle is fine. The tires rub because the axle is not long enough, thus you need to weld on an extension or look for different offset wheels. They do make different offset's. Hope that helps you out.
