Hey all. Just wondering i have a 14.5 hp ohv briggs and want to run a fuel pump. If i were to drill a hole in the intake manifold and use that as the vacuum, would that be enough vacuum to draw the fuel?

That would probably work fine although Briggs normally pulls a pulse from the crankcase. Late model engines have a hose barb on the dipstick tube for this purpose. I believe you will also have to change the needle/seat in the carb. You should be able to find that specific info, part numbers, on the Heymow forum as I'm almost positive a gravity fed carb from a Briggs single won't handle the pressure from a pump. Good luck.

Thanks for info. Much appreciated. However i installed an atv carb on the motor and wow what a difference! Much more power. So would a fuel pump work with that?

I drilled and tapped into the valve cover on my Briggs single for the pump
