Brandon, what class are you building for?
If you give us some more info like your motor type/size, rear tire size, and type of transmission/gearbox or RAGB, some of our members may be able to help further, especially if there is some one running the same or similar set up.
Another important factor would be if you are using a centrifugal clutch off the engine because that will greatly affect the size of your engine pulley.

5" on the clutch. Then on the 90-degree gearbox, do you have room for an 8" or 9" pulley? Depending on what you have room for, we can then look at the sprocket ratio for he final drive. Let me know...

There are lots of us here to help you. If you can post some pictures, that might help us with some next steps. Photobucket works well and then just paste the url to your pic in your post.

Most of us are buying clutches from Princess Auto or gocart shops and welding on a larger pulley. I think you'll find your Vanguard engine will over power a 3" pulley and your belt might slip. With those big tires you'll need taller gears, so do yourself a favour and get as much reduction up front as you can. 5:10 or even 4:10 up front.

Preferably 5" but 4" would get you rolling as well.

So I have a 5 up front on the motor a 9 inch on the gear box and I have a. 54 tooth sprocket on the rear axel. What size sprocket would get me torque but also speed on the side of the RAGB
