It is sad to hear anytime someone gets injured in this sport, but what is worst is when it is one of our own. And John is one of our special members who always strives to perform no matter what odds are against him, and he keeps coming back time after time showing his dedication to the sport. His injures are from what I have been told extensive but not life threatening. He will be on the mend for a long time and we do hope he gets well soon. Which brings me to think of why safety should be paramount, it is our responsibility to everyone that comes to our events. Enforcing of it should come as easy as breathing reguardless of who or what . If we get complacent in this we could have the same sort of thing happen in this club. As for the other club I would think they were doing there best to prevent this from happening and we thank them for getting to John fast and getting him the medical attention he needed. We should be looking at ways to improve our safety standards and stand by them no matter what. At the end of the day we want to go home injury free and happy about the sport we chose to participate in each weekend.

I would have to agree with you there and we will be doing just that for next years race venues. But even the smoothest track can still have accidents caused buy a number of factors as well. I believe we need to look at having body armour madatory in all classes as just one measure to ensure in the event someone comes off their tractor they have that added protection. Speed is not the main factor for injuries either, a junior could fall off and get ran into buy another driver, and get hurt bad. Our rules state recommended use of body armour which I think was a mistake on our parts in this matter. Can one put a price on safety? For now it will be up to the drivers to decide that. Lets hope we make it through the rest of the season accident free.

Our thoughts and prayers go with you John. Get well soon and get back to the track. It won't be the same until you do.
