Here is what I build for my first axle. Have bought them complete in the past. Figured I could build one based on my limited experience. Setting the Angles for the axle beam. Top of 1 x 2 axle beam. 21 1/2 inches Cut axle beam at 12 degrees. This is my Camber. Use wood shims and tilt axle beam 8 degrees. This is my Castor. Building the First spindle Jig. 10 Degrees for everything. Will try to write more about this later. And the completed axle. So this is a week or 2 of free time to build this. The 2nd will be much faster. Figuring out all the angles is what takes the time.

Here is my updated spindle jig. Needs couple shims add to hold the spindle rod level. Pavement Go-karts use a 7degree spindle setup. Dirt Go-karts us a 10 degree setup. To be honest not sure what the difference is yet.. I ran on pavement spindles last years. I also bend a bunch of them. So this year I trying to make them a little stronger. Stepped spindles. 5/8 on the outside of the spindle. Stepped up to 3/4 inch on the inside. All angles are 10 degrees. There are bunch of angles at play on these spindles. The rod is tilted down 10 degrees. The steering are also needs two different angels to be added to it. Notice how the steering are is tilted 10 degrees to be parallel with spindle and then it is also angle down 10 degrees in so it is flat when all bolted together. I suspect I might change the steering arm a couple degrees + or - to stop binding some where. Hope that makes sense.
