Hello everyone
I am new to this Forum and I am trying to figure out everything on here, I want to start off racing Stock Mod so i was wondering if anyone could help me out with what i need to know. I was also wondering should i buy a mower and then fix it from there or build one from the ground up. One thing i dont know much about engines but am willing to learn as you gotta start somewhere as they say. But I do like to race. anyways i hope a few of you can help me out thanks again

Where are you located and perhaps there is a member nearby you can connect with. You can enter the sport a couple different ways. If you have the money, by far the easiest route is to buy a quality machine. However, many of us have small engine or fabricating skills and enjoy time spent in the shop building machines just as much as racing them. Another good resource to get a feel for design and how much work is involved is the Heymow message board (US based). There are many posts on that forum that follow entire chassis build-ups.

Probably would be best to start with a good machine and then do your learning maintaining and modifying it. It's easy for a seasoned builder to spend a couple hundred hours on a supermod build. Then you spend a season in the track tweaking it and resolving problems. Keep an eye on Kijiji as machines come up regularly. I am in Hastings, you are welcome to visit. 705-957-7055

Well it start life as a 1980'sardman now it got
11 Hp Briggs and Stratton I/C engine Straight exhaust Governor bypassed Gas pedal 4 inch wider front axle nerf bars on the sides for protection Front and rear bumps upgrade tie rod ends John Deere 5 speed transaxle (open diff) Kill switch Front and rear pulley swap
Basically I followed the rules and built from there. Currently its running the stock clutch which is causing issues with the belt staying but I think I've figured them out. Hopefully I'll up grade to the centrifugal clutch later this year. I can send you some pictures if you'd like, Best way to know what your in for is show up to a race a have a look. Best bunch of guys I've met in a long time everyone is will to help.
