Still trying to get a junior class mower completed for Roseneath/Norwood races. I am having some difficulty interpreting the rules and motor ID's. The current engine I have is a 12.5hp I/C B&S 286707. Am I understanding correctly that a model number, whether flathead or OHV, starting with '28' exceeds the junior class? It would be really fantastic if someone could point me in the right direction as to what motor(s) to hunt down for this build that comply. The assumption that I made on purchasing the 12.5hp was from the lawn tractor engine displacement tables found at the bottom of the rules page stating 11hp are 25 CI and 13 HP are 28 CI. So, the 12.5 hp made sense to purchase as I 'assumed' the displacement might fall somewhere in between. We all know what happens when assumptions are made...anyhow, your help would be appreciated so I can get this build done for my son.

That motor is fine for junior or modified classes. The OHV motor that starts with 28 is too big. Just wanted to mention that i have a tractor that would be ready to race in either junior or modified for $400.

Thanks Dan. Much appreciated. Really.
I did have some interest in your tractor as we are probably going to build a couple over the winter.
Where are you located? Can I get your phone number?
Tks, JR
