Thankyou everyone for a fantastic day at the races!!! I love to watch good clean fast safe driving and Grasshogs, you did it!!
It was obvious from the crowds reaction that the spectators thoroughly enjoyed the event and was compounded by witnessing volunteers of the fair board delivering more seating stands to our side of the track so that there was more sitting room for the overcrowded fenceline, lol.
Sam, Joe, Ian and Mr. Fowler...kudos for a great job with the flagging and pace tractor driving. Les, as well, kept the classes running smoothly ensuring safe entry and exit for the track.
Cathy and Maxine...outstanding....some people think counting laps is the easiest job out there but it is not....so many cautions to take into consideration and on top of that you need to be at the top of your game to ensure the winning positions are correct and passed onto the announcer in the right order.
Kelly..I know you said this was only your second time announcing, but you did an incredible job! Again, not an easy task to keep the spectators informed, especially when you're trying to make sure your family and friends who spin and turn are safe at the same time.
To the racers....I echo what I said before...it was great to see good clean safe and fast racing. No one has been able to figure out how everyone missed Jason when he sat t-boned between corners 3 and 4...as Sam said to me "it means the drivers were paying attention". Everyone is a winner...no serious damage and no collisions...could this be a first???
And finally, a thankyou to the family members who are automatically inducted into the racing world and show the enthusiasm and comraderie which encourages clean competetiveness and the forming of friendships with other racing families.
Have a great week and I hope to see you all out at Perth next weekend!!!!
