hi, have a rear engine 8 hp roper im putting back together and would like to race it in stock modified next season. the rules state that you have to have 8 inch rims on the rear, mine are 6 inch and are stock, to accomodate the bigger and wider rims i would need to put on a wider axle preferably 1 inch diameter so i can buy a disc brake for in from princess auto. am i allowed to make him modification? please help me out . thanks jake

If your tractor has a transaxle you cannot put a live axle system in a stock modifed. I do not understand why 8" rims will not fit. We had another driver with a rear rider change his over and he never informed us he had a problem doing so.

You will have to make extensions for your rear axle for 8" rims to fit. They won't just slip on in place. Make sure your original axle is 3/4 to start with.

the tirre is fatter and rubs against the side pannels, no there is no trasnaxle. it it chain drive to the axle

No transaxle is fine. The tires rub because the axle is not long enough, thus you need to weld on an extension or look for different offset wheels. They do make different offset's. Hope that helps you out.

i think it would be easier to buy a new 3/4 inch keyed shaft from princessauto, i will cut it just so there is enough room, i wont widen it any more than stock just enough to fit the tires and rims
